2K Hires Popular Battle Royale Producer to Rescue Struggling Hero Shooter Project Ethos

2K Games has welcomed Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to lead the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently crafting the upcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.

Leadership Shift Follows Poor Response

The new appointee steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing initial reveal last fall.

Recently, 2K president David Ismailer updated staff about this decision through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had indicated the need for a clearer vision.

Ismailer noted that the team is now reimagining the project with a renewed focus, aiming to address community desires.

A Pattern of Strategic Acquisitions

This announcement follows a similar action taken by 2K Games in August, when they brought on an industry veteran from the Diablo team to work on the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.

Here is the entire text from the president's communication:
