In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK to deliver a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters slowed down speech don't think I can catch the flight we are heading to the airport".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air departing at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an amazing assistant".

These messages were released on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets has been able to confirm his involvement by matching the dates, events, and places mentioned.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as Trump's closest aides in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein before his death and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he said: "We plan to release the film, the five-part series, next year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed materials suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good asst", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Discussed in Exchanges

The released messages also show Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in that year.

On the same day his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit issue this day with Farage, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the period, he continued: "The guys are trying to move on. may today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view remaining as long as you can in the UK. Ideal- so people see the commitment of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa May remain in power". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys here have no balls" and noted "Boris ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was finally toppled in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK informed the BBC: "Nigel Farage has never been in a meeting with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should release all its files concerning its probe into Epstein, who died in jail in that year.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was renewed recently after the publication of over 20,000 pages from his archives.

Some of those referenced Trump, who has consistently denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they fell out in the 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
